Our goal is to strengthen the financial management skills of volunteers or other individuals involved in small sports clubs by providing free and easily accessible learning materials and tools for development.
The financial management skills in Finnish sports are affected by the fact that the foundation of Finnish sports is formed by sports clubs and associations, where a significant portion of the activities is carried out by volunteers. Frequently, these volunteers are experts in other fields than accounting and finance. Additionally, the development of expertise and operations in sports clubs often focuses specifically on sports activities and coaching, with financial management receiving less attention.
The project aims to create openly available training materials that are accessible regardless of time and location, as well as various tools for the use of volunteers and other stakeholders involved in financial management in small sports clubs. The produced materials concentrate on the implementation of financial management, administrative development, and identifying the potential for automation of accounting and administration.
