AIE – artificial intelligence as a promoter of equality

In the AIE project the Haaga-Helia team is studying the use and development of AI in order to promote an equal working life, because while AI enables the development of knowledge work, its effects can be discriminating against different target groups in working life.

The aim is to increase knowledge and understanding of how AI can be utilised, especially as a tool for knowledge workers in support functions. The project supports the expertise and capabilities of experts in knowledge work in support functions to develop artificial intelligence, knowledge work and equality.   

Alongside research carried out using survey and interview methods, the project involves development work, the target organisations of which are OP Financial Group and Vaisala Oyj.

Through joint development and foresight workshops, we find the best operating models to develop knowledge work sustainably. Among other things, we investigate the level of professional development and ethical functioning of information workers in work community support functions. We want to strengthen the development agency within the work community and to include an equality perspective in the development and use of artificial intelligence.
