AI-TIE Southern Finland - Technology Innovation Ecosystems for Competitiveness of SMEs

The AI-TIE Southern Finland project is coordinated by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and it aims to support SMEs in Southern Finland in developing and growing their business through the use of AI solutions to innovate, sell and deliver new products and services to their customers.

At the same time, it aims to develop AI-related research, know-how, and innovation centers based on regional strengths.

The project's objectives are to develop Southern Finland's AI expertise and move the artificial intelligence discussion from a general level to industry-specific training, mentoring, and accelerator activities. AI-TIE Etelä-Suomi operates in Uusimaa and Kymenlaakso, covering all industries.

AI-TIE Etelä-Suomi uses the expertise of the AI-TIE project and the training materials developed in it. At the same time, it enriches the best practices developed in AI-TIE from the mapping and initiation phases of business artificial intelligence development projects.

It is an independent project that works alongside the AI-TIE project, which has attracted a lot of interest.

The operation of the project is managed by the joint steering group of the AI-TIE and AI-TIE Etelä-Suomi projects, which includes the following network organizations: Finland’s Artificial Intelligence Accelerator FAIA, MyData Global, Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce, Länsi-Uusimaa Chamber of Commerce, Itä-Uusimaa Development Service Posintra Oy, Uudenmaan yrittäjät, NewCo Helsinki, Central Uusimaa Business Development Center – KEUKE, Health Capital Helsinki, Healthtech Finland, The Chemical Industry Federation of Finland and Sailab MedTech Finland.
Funding: European Regional Development Fund (REACT-EU), Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council and Regional Council of Kymenlaakso. The project is funded as part of the European Union’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
