INKLU – Towards inclusive vocational education

The aim of the INKLU project is that all vocational students receive the support they need equally in order to acquire the necessary competence, complete a degree and find employment in any educational institution, anywhere in Finland.

The project

  • clarifies the processes and practices of special support and multiprofessional cooperation
  • develops the competence of staff of vocational education institutions in supporting students and in multiprofessional cooperation
  • trains students in vocational teacher, special needs teacher education and guidance counsellor education for special support.

The INKLU project develops operating models for special support and disseminates the developed operating models nationally. The aim is to reach 80 % of vocational education providers in Finland. The project is coordinated nationally by JAMK University of Applied Sciences. The project is implemented by all five vocational teacher education institutions and six vocational education and training providers from different parts of Finland, one of which is a vocational special education institution.

The project highlights good practices and develops materials for open sharing.
