Welcome to visit Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences! Whether you are a lecturer, visiting staff member, or business representative, we have gathered tips and practical information on this page to make your visit as successful as possible.

Visits on our campuses

Haaga-Helia operates on five campuses, three of which are in Helsinki and the other two are in Porvoo (50 km from Helsinki) and Vierumäki (135 km from Helsinki).

Teacher and staff exchange opportunities at Haaga-Helia

Haaga-Helia welcomes visiting lecturers and staff members from our partner and non-partner institutions to visit Haaga-Helia. Please contact International Services or your Haaga-Helia contact person to discuss the opportunities.

Erasmus+ teacher exchange

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences welcomes teachers and lecturers from our partner universities. 

If you would like to visit Haaga-Helia, please contact your home institution first to find out if there is an agreement between your institution and Haaga-Helia (e.g. Erasmus+, Nordplus, TFK, or bilateral). Check also your home institution's requirements regarding teacher exchange and its funding.  

Once you have confirmed the possibility of teacher exchange with your home institution, please contact staffexchange@haaga-helia.fi to organise the exchange. Please include your CV and description of the area of expertise/topic you would like to teach or a ready proposition for lectures and activities. Haaga-Helia International Services will help to find you a suitable curriculum and contact person for your exchange.

Teacher exchanges to Haaga-Helia typically last 2-5 days and can include following activities: 

  • Minimum 8 hours of teaching 
  • Other possible activities to be carried out: 
    • Familiarize yourself with Haaga-Helia 
    • Follow Haaga-Helia lectures & teaching 
    • Compare teaching methods  
    • Participate in RDI activities
    • Networking  
    • Plan new forms of cooperation

Ideally, the exchange will lead to long-term cooperation, e.g. development of joint courses and RDI projects.

It is also possible to visit more than one campus during your exchange.

Staff exchange

For non-academic staff (i.e. non-teaching staff) Haaga-Helia welcomes guests and visitors from our partner universities during the Haaga-Helia International Staff Week.
